At sunset
Start ~90 min before sundown
The most requested slot. Low light across the rock, long shadows, the Atlas in orange and violet, back at base just before dark. Comfortable temperatures year round.
At sunrise
Pre-dawn start
The desert before anyone else: no other vehicle on the tracks, no dust ahead of you, and the Atlas catching the sun first. The summer answer — and you are back for breakfast.
How the tour runs
Meet at the base at the Afriquia station, Km 16 route d'Amizmiz — about 90 minutes before sundown, or before first light if you pick the sunrise. After the formalities (ID, waiver), the guide runs through the controls, braking and driving on the rocky Agafay tracks. Helmet, goggles and a 4-point harness are issued to everyone. You then head out to the ochre plateaus, with a photo stop when the light is at its lowest. At sunset you are back just before dark, in time for dinner in town; at sunrise you are back at base for breakfast.

What time should we arrive?
It depends which moment you pick. For sunset, about 90 minutes before sundown — the exact time shifts with the season and we confirm it when you book. For sunrise the meeting time is before first light, so very early: we give you the exact time the day before.
Is transfer from Marrakech included?
Not by default. We can arrange it via partners as a paid extra, on request (priced in your quote, Medina/Hivernage/Guéliz). Otherwise: a ride-hailing app.
